Here at the Why Not Youth Centre, we have been working on the Facility Facelift project. Our high-traffic building is in need of some attention. Some items have gotten worn out. Some have broken, and some are just in need of some upkeep.

Volunteer teams and sponsors have been helping to spruce Why Not back up and make it the welcoming environment that the homeless and at-risk teens we serve desperately need.

On Saturday, October 20th, one of our biggest tasks was tackled.

An enthusiastic team of volunteers came in bright and early on Saturday morning to paint the entire youth lounge, including the video games room, entryway, and bathroom. The team of nine were all staff members from David D Wilson Manufacturing and Galeforce Welding.

The paint was donated by Valspar, and the colours were selected by Vos Interiors.

There’s nothing like a fresh coat of paint to give a space a great new feel.

Thank you so much to the team of volunteers and sponsors who helped us to make such great headway!

Earlier in the fall, David D Wilson Manufacturing partnered with Alexanian’s Carpet and Flooring to replace the carpeting on the stairway.

With community members like these stepping in to lend help, the difference ads up quickly!

Project Facelift is scheduled to be finished by the end of spring 2019.
